Sustainability must be a natural driver for all the companies in the group, and forms the basis of the group strategy, business philosophy, and value base.
We are convinced that sustainable business operations provide increased profitability, strengthen the companies’ value, demonstrate social responsibility, and provide a bolstered reputation.
ESG is the financial industry’s standard for measuring how sustainable a company is. In order to clarify this standard and the Zurhaar group’s strategy, we had skilled speakers join us to focus on each part of ESG.
All businesses affect the environment in one way or another, e.g. during transport, emissions, waste, or power consumption. We must be aware of our direct and indirect impact on the environment and have a broad and comprehensive understanding of sustainability as an overall strategic driver. Here, Thina Saltvedt (pictured: middle left) from Nordea gave an interesting lecture on sustainability as a competitive advantage.
We have a social responsibility towards society and our employees, and must develop the group, the people, and our working environment with respect and equality for the good of the individual and society. Here, Jostein Hole Kobbeltvedt (pictured: middle right) from the Rafto Foundation gave an exciting lecture on human rights from a sustainability perspective.
Governance (Business Ethics)
We must live by honest and healthy attitudes based on responsible ethics and morals. Here, Guro Slettemark (pictured: right) from Transparency International Norway talked about corruption risks, ethical issues, and transparency.
Sustainability must be incorporated throughout the organisation by establishing knowledge and understanding.
Furthermore, we will find the challenges in each company, and work closely to take the right steps and find the appropriate solutions. During the process, we will measure our status and effect to see if we are on the right track.
In the years ahead, we will prepare sustainability reports that will be published on this website so that we are open and honest about the status of our work.
